NILAI, Oct 25 – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki on Thursday advised MACC officers to avoid corruption in their daily duties and avoid tainting their minds with negative things that can become parasites within the organisation.

He likened corruption to api dalam sekam (hidden evil) that can erode justice and good values, threatening well-being and destroying a nation if left unchecked.

“I would also like to remind these new recruits that they must quickly equip themselves with skills and a creative mindset and adopt a more positive and responsive attitude to remain relevant and competitive.

“I would also like to urge them to fully prepare themselves, as the responsibilities awaiting them at MACC will bring a new shift in their lives,” he said.

He said that at the parade of the graduation ceremony of the Basic Course for MACC Officers at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) here.
