REMBAU, Nov 2 – The Rembau Land and District Office (PTDR) has advised operators of a well in Ulu Sepri, here, which reportedly provides ion therapy for various ailments, to temporarily halt operations until the Health Ministry (MoH) completes its investigation.
Rembau District Officer Mohd Zamri Mohd Esa said the PTDR, along with the Negeri Sembilan Water Regulatory Body (BKSA), visited the site on Tuesday to conduct a thorough inspection.
“Following our visit, the BKSA has issued a directive requiring the operators to apply for a licence under the Water Act 1920 (Act 418), as amended by the 2007 Water Act, since the operators were abstracting river water without a licence.
“They now have 14 days to submit their application to the Negeri Sembilan BKSA, and we will continue our monitoring efforts,” he told reporters Friday.
He said the site has attracted public interest, with tents set up by the operators. Investigations revealed that the location is on customary land, officially designated for agricultural use.
Recently, social media posts went viral, suggesting that water from the well in Rembau offers health benefits for various conditions, including stroke, through a specialised treatment technology.
In response, the MoH addressed the issue on X, stating it is taking it seriously.
