Federal Govt Urged to Give Priority to USIM Hospital Proposal in Nilai

SEREMBAN, Jan 16 — The Negeri Sembilan government welcomes the proposal to build a Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Teaching Hospital in Nilai and hopes that the project will be given priority by the federal government.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the proposal was raised in the last Parliament session for the government’s consideration, given its importance to the medical education sector and the health needs of the local community.

“I welcome this proposal and I am confident that the construction of USIM Hospital will be given priority by the federal government. It is highly anticipated by students and educators in the medical field.

“In addition, the hospital will also provide great benefits to the community in Nilai in obtaining health services,” he told reporters after officiating the Sejahtera MADANI-Education: Kasih Siswa Program at the Negeri Sembilan level yesterday.

Also present were State Secretary, Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim, State Financial Officer, Datuk Masri Razali and State Development Director, Datuk Noor-Ihsan Che Mat.

He said the construction of USIM Hospital would not only strengthen the medical education ecosystem but also increase access to quality health services to local residents and the surrounding areas.

The media yesterday reported that the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir in his speech hoped that the construction of the hospital could be carefully considered because it has the potential to strengthen health services in the state.
