Felcra Channels RM68.48 Million to Johor For Hardcore Poor

JOHOR BAHRU, Feb 13 — FELCRA Bhd (FELCRA) has channelled RM68.48 million to the Johor government for the development of the people’s well-being under the “Skim Pembangunan Kesejahteraan Rakyat”  (SPKR) programme this year.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the allocation would be utilised in a transparent, systematic and targeted manner to assist the hardcore poor registered under the e-Kasih system.

He added that over the past five years, FELCRA had also distributed RM311.9 million in profits to more than 11,000 participants, demonstrating that the agriculture sector and efficient land management can generate sustainable returns while improving the living standards of the people in Johor.

“God willing, we will continue to strengthen our collaboration with FELCRA in advancing the rural development and poverty eradication agenda,” he said in a statement today.

At the same time, Onn Hafiz expressed his appreciation to FELCRA chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub for the continued assistance and cooperation extended to the state government.

He said that during a meeting with Ahmad Jazlan, both parties discussed various matters related to enhancing FELCRA’s operations and asset management in Johor to ensure governance that is more orderly, transparent and competitive.

“This step is crucial to ensure that every facility and project implemented delivers maximum benefits to participants and the local community.

“Hopefully, this close synergy will further strengthen the rural economy, safeguard the well-being of participants and inclusively drive Johor’s prosperity, Insya-Allah,”  he said.
