KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3 — Shamsul Anuar Nasarah has resigned from Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s cabinet.
“In view of several decisions made by the party (Umno), I, as a loyal Umno member, hereby state my resignation as a cabinet minister,” he said in a curt statement today.
He thanked Muhyiddin for giving him an opportunity to serve and the Umno leadership for nominating him as a minister.
Shamsul is a third-term Lenggong MP and was previously granted the energy and natural resources portfolio.
He is also an elected member of Umno’s supreme council.
Shamsul said he will now focus his efforts on serving his constituents and working for the party.
