JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 5  — The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has built 13 new communication towers in four districts in the state to improve internet access in the areas.

According to a statemernt issued by MCMC Corporate Communications Department, all the new communication towers have started operation in several villages in the districts of Muar, Mersing, Kota Tinggi and Pontian.

MCMC said with these towers , residents in the areas involved would be able to enjoy faster and better quality broadband services.

The construction of the towers was carried out under the Universal Service Provision (USP) project to benefit residents in Johor and upgrade the people’s quality of life.

“Of the 13 towers, three are located in Mersing district namely in Kampung Orang Asli Punan, Kampung Teriang and Jalan Endau-Mersing. 

“Meanwhile, three towers located in Pontian district are at Kampung Parit Sulaiman, Kampung Haji Ashari and Kampung Buloh Kasap,” said the statement today.

Six more towers were built in Kota Tinggi districts in Kampung Nior, Kampung Linting, Kampung Sungai Pacat including Jalan Jemaluang, Jalan Lombong and Jalan Tanjung Balau. 

Another one was built in Kampung Bukit Bendar in Muar district.

“At the same time, 23 more new communication towers are built in eight districts in Johor by the appointed service providers and they are expected to be completed in March 2022.

“With these additional towers, they would not only facilitate local residents in carrying out their various daily chores smoothly but also improve their socio-economic level,” said MCMC.
