SINGAPORE, March 13 — The second evacuation flight operated by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) arrived in Singapore on Friday, carrying 81 Singaporeans, their dependants and foreign nationals.
Singapore’s Defence Ministry in a statement on Friday said that after accommodating registered Singaporeans on the evacuation flight from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, available seats were extended to nationals from Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
“This is in the spirit of solidarity, just as other countries have assisted Singaporeans in returning home in past crises,” it said.
The RSAF A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft touched down at Changi Airport at 5.59 am.
The first RSAF MRTT evacuation flight carrying 218 Singaporeans and their dependents from Riyadh arrived in Singapore on Wednesday.
Over the two RSAF MRTT deployments to Saudi Arabia, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) have successfully supported the return of 299 Singaporeans and their dependents from West Asia.
