TH Announces Profit Distribution of 3.50 Per Cent – Highest in Eight Years

KUALA LUMPUR,  March 18 — The Pilgrims’ Fund Board (Tabung Haji – TH) today announced a profit distribution of 3.50 per cent, after zakat, for the 2025 financial year, the highest rate recorded since 2018.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Zulkifli Hasan, said the total profit distribution amounted to RM3.22 billion, benefiting more than 9.7 million TH depositors.

“The rate was achieved after taking into account zakat repayment at 2.577 per cent, amounting to RM95.3 million,” he said at a press conference here today.

Also present were TH Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mustakim Mohamad, TH Chairman Abdul Rashid Hussain, and TH Finance Department Group Executive Director Shamsul Bahar Shamsudin.

Zulkifli said TH’s strongest performance in eight years was driven by enhanced governance, disciplined cost management and a robust, resilient investment strategy.

Zulkifli also announced that, as of this year, the cumulative profit distribution to depositors since the establishment of Lembaga Tabung Haji 62 years ago has reached RM49 billion.

He said depositors can check the credited profit distribution beginning 10 am on March 19 via the THiJARI platform, Tabung Haji counters, and its strategic partner banks — Bank Islam, Bank Rakyat, Maybank Islamic, CIMB Islamic and AmBank Islamic.

At the same press conference, Zulkifli said TH would pay zakat amounting to RM95.3 million to all State Islamic Religious Councils (MAIN) on behalf of depositors in 2025. The distribution will be coordinated based on the ratio of depositors’ savings balances by state.

“To date, the total zakat paid by Tabung Haji on behalf of depositors has reached RM1.57 billion, further strengthening efforts to assist the asnaf group,” he said.

On financial performance, Zulkifli noted that TH recorded its highest investment income of RM4.64 billion in 2025, compared with RM4.56 billion in 2024.

He attributed the growth to a stable domestic economic environment, disciplined investment strategies and sound financial management.

“Overall, Tabung Haji’s financial position remains strong, with total assets of RM98.58 billion exceeding total liabilities of RM95.63 billion,” he added.

As an institution entrusted with managing savings for the haj pilgrimage, Tabung Haji has enabled more than 1.5 million Malaysian Muslims to perform the pilgrimage.

Through its Zakat Wakalah Programme, TH supported over 726,000 beneficiaries nationwide last year, bringing the total number of recipients to more than 2.9 million over the past decade.

The distribution was made in accordance with the Tabung Haji Act 1995, after TH’s 2025 financial statements were audited by the National Audit Department.
