KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 — Malaysians who wish to pursue their studies in Traditional Indian Medicine in India can apply for the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme 2021-22, said the Indian High Commission in Malaysia.
The commission said the Indian government is offering the scholarship for this year’s academic year, namely Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Sciences (BSMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) and Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine & Surgery (BHMS).
“Scholarships are also offered for Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Yoga, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Yoga Shastra, Postgraduate (PG) in Ayurveda, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Ayurveda and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Yoga,” said the commission in a statement made available to Bernama.
The statement said applicants are eligible to apply for the Bachelor courses provided they are fluent in English and have completed any one of the qualifications equivalent to 12th standard in India, such as STPM, A Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), American High School Diploma, two years of South Australian Matriculation (SAM), two years of Canadian Pre-University (CPU), or any other qualification.
The statement said the scholarship provides for tuition fee, living allowance, contingent grant, house rent allowance and airfare, adding that submission of application is not an assurance of admission.
“The candidates are expected to comply with admission formalities and procedures of the respective college/university in India,” it said.
The application form should be filled online and submitted on the ‘A2A Scholarship’ portal (http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in) by Sept 30, 2021.
