KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 — Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that Petronas operations remain stable for the period between April and May, following a detailed report presented at yesterday’s National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting, where several aspects of the company’s operations were carefully reviewed.
He also said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed that the situation continue to be closely monitored.
“For the period between April and May, Petronas operations remain under control.
“At the same time, we are also informed that several vessels are still in transit and awaiting passage through the Strait of Hormuz,” he said during the ministry’s weekly press conference here today.
He then dismissed claims that Malaysia had paid any tolls, attributing such reports to misunderstandings or misinformation circulating online.
The minister also confirmed that weekly fuel prices for RON95, RON97, and diesel will be announced every Wednesday.
“Any reports or information received outside these official announcements after 6pm should be regarded as false.
“Domestic fuel supply is currently under control, and the matter will be further reviewed at next week’s NEAC meeting, with an official statement expected thereafter,” he added.
