Raja Muda of Perlis Graces Launch of Dato’ Keith Li’s Memoir ‘My Thirty Years in Malaysia’

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 — The official launch of “My Thirty Years in Malaysia,” a personal memoir by Dato’ Keith Li , was held today in Kuala Lumpur.

The event was graced by His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Ibni Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, the Raja Muda of Perlis, who penned the book’s foreword and officiated the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.

The prestigious gathering was attended by Deputy Minister of Communications, Teo Nie Ching; Minister Counsellor and Consul General of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Wang Jiarong; and Tan Sri Lim Keng Cheng of the Lim Seong Hai Group. Also in attendance were Datuk Abdul Majid Ahmad Khan, President of the Malaysia-China Friendship Association, alongside many prominent figures from the business community, media, and the China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia (PUCM).

Dato’ Keith Li is the founder and President of PUCM and the founder of the trilingual news platform Malaysia-China Insight. Notably, the outlet was the sole Malaysian media organization authorized to cover China’s “Two Sessions” in Beijing earlier this year. The launch also highlighted PUCM’s 10th anniversary, marked by a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who commended the association’s role in strengthening bilateral trade and people-to-people ties.

The memoir, “My Thirty Years in Malaysia,” chronicles Li’s three-decade journey from a newcomer to a key figure in the local business landscape. The book offers strategic insights for Chinese entrepreneurs, emphasizing the synergy between traditional Chinese business wisdom and integration into Malaysia’s diverse mainstream community.

During the launch, Li delivered an emotional dedication to his late mother, who passed away five months ago, describing the memoir as a “belated life report” in her honour. He expressed deep gratitude to the Raja Muda of Perlis for over 20 years of mentorship and support, as well as to the Chinese Embassy and his professional peers.

Demonstrating a commitment to corporate social responsibility, the event included a charity sale that raised RM30,000 for the Tuanku Syed Putra Foundation (YTSP).

“I firmly believe that deeper cultural exchanges and sincere cooperation are the bedrock of long-term stability and development in our bilateral relations,” Li stated.

Currently, Li is the only leader of a Chinese National association in Malaysia elected to the China Overseas Friendship Association. He also serves as a Visiting Professor at Jiangsu Ocean University and holds several executive roles in the Jiangsu Overseas Friendship Association.
