UAE Reports Second Day of Iranian Attacks

CAIRO, May 6 — Iranian forces have attacked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with missiles and drones for the second day in a row, according to local authorities on Tuesday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

The UAE Defence Ministry said it was responding to the attacks.

The disaster protection authority appealed to the population to seek shelter and to follow official channels for warnings and news.

Falling fragments should not be touched, approached or photographed, the authority said.

Iran renewed attacks on the UAE on Monday for the first time since a ceasefire went into force four weeks ago.

United States (US) President Donald Trump recently extended the ceasefire unilaterally without a time limit.

The Iranian forces have described their attacks as a reaction to a US initiative to reopen the blockaded Strait of Hormuz.

Monday’s attacks on the UAE caused a fire at an oil depot in the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman outside the strait.
