KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) will hold its national convention in Johor on May 17, a major gathering aimed at strengthening the coalition’s machinery and outlining its strategy ahead of upcoming state polls and the 16th General Election (GE16).
The convention, the first to be held since 2022, will take place at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre, the coalition announced today.
“The resumption of this convention reflects Pakatan Harapan’s continued commitment to strengthening the organisation, empowering the reform agenda, and ensuring that the aspirations of the MADANI government continue to be implemented for the benefit of the people,” PH said in a statement.
Themed “Madani Resolve, The People’s Hope”, the event is designed to unify the coalition’s leadership, coordinate political operations, and address the nation’s current challenges, according to a joint media statement issued today.
PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is the prime minister, is due to deliver a special address to the delegates at the convention, which will also be attended by senior leaders from all component parties to reinforce unity and readiness for the political road ahead.
As the leading coalition in the national unity government, PH said its focus remains on strengthening the national economy, ensuring political stability, and bolstering public confidence.
The statement was jointly issued by PKR information chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Amanah vice president Adly Zahari, and DAP vice chairman Syahredzan Johan.
