KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched Akademi Bola Sepak DNA Faisal Halim in Mengkuang Titi, Penang on Tuesday as part of efforts to develop grassroots football and to unearth young local talent.

Anwar said the academy was not merely a place to train, but an arena to build discipline, fighting spirit and confidence in youth.

“I believe the future of sports in the country depends on efforts to shape young talent with values of hardwork, good manners and strong commitment,” he posted on Facebook.

He also expressed hope that the academy would nurture more young talent capable of bringing glory to the country.

Faisal is a key player in the Harimau Malaya and Selangor FC football teams, and famous for his slick footballing moves and consistent performance at the domestic and international levels.
