Cashless Travel to Begin For Causeway Link Buses From Singapore

SINGAPORE, Aug 20 — Commuters travelling to Johor Bahru on Causeway Link cross-border buses from Newton and Queen Street stations in Singapore will go fully cashless onboard beginning Thursday.

In a Facebook post, the bus operator said cash payments would no longer be accepted onboard, although travellers could still purchase tickets with cash before boarding.

It said onboard payment options include Visa and Mastercard, ManjaLink, the LUGO app and ezLink cards.

For cash transactions, commuters can purchase tickets at the ManjaLink kiosk at Queen Street or from ground staff at Newton.

According to its official website, cash payments will no longer be accepted onboard all Causeway Link cross-border and feeder bus services beginning October 1, 2026.

The operator said the latest move is aimed at providing commuters with a faster and more seamless travel experience.
