KUCHING, Aug 26 — A section of the roof at the arrival area of Kuching International Airport (KIA) was damaged by strong winds and heavy rain yesterday afternoon.
Airport personnel were at the scene to assess the situation, while personnel from the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) were conducting traffic control.
Similar weather conditions were reported in other parts of Kuching, including an uprooted tree at Jalan BDC.
The affected areas include Limbang, Miri (Marudi, Telang Usan, Bario and Beluru), Bintulu, Kapit (Kapit, Song and Bukit Mabong), Sarikei (Julau and Pakan), Sibu, Kuching (Kuching), Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman (Lingga, Pantu and Sri Aman), Betong (Pusa) and Mukah (Mukah). — The Borneo Post
