Verstappen Claims Maiden Singapore Grand Prix Victory, Secures Back-to-Back Wins

SINGAPORE, Oct 12 — Red Bull’s Max Verstappen claimed his maiden victory at the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his second consecutive win of the season and the 73rd of his career at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The Dutchman continued his winning momentum following last week’s triumph at the Bahrain Grand Prix, held at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second, while Mercedes driver and championship leader Kimi Antonelli completed the podium in third.

The Singapore victory was Verstappen’s second win of the 2026 season, achieved during his 250th career Formula One Grand Prix weekend.

The result lifted him to fourth in the drivers’ championship standings with 221 points, while Antonelli maintained his lead with 340 points.

Verstappen said the victory came at the right time following a strong performance on the challenging street circuit.

“We had pace and we needed to have it on the soft tyre and on the medium, even though I think the medium tyre for everyone was a bit more of a struggle.

“But it worked out, so of course I am very happy to win here,” he said in a post-race interview.

He said Red Bull Racing had enjoyed a positive run in recent races and remained motivated to deliver stronger results in the remaining rounds of the season.

“It is a really good group of people. I really enjoy working with them and hopefully we can have a bit more fun until the end of the year,” he added.
