KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 — For the first time, 18 Cadet Officers of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) comprising two service branches namely the Malaysian Armed forces (TDM) and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) earned their wings after successfully completing the 2U2I Pilot Training Programme.

ATM in a statement today said the MAF Cadet Officer passing out ceremony under the Pilot 2U2I Programme was officiated by the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Tan Sri Affend Buang at the Sungai Besi Prime Minister’s Hall, today.

According to the statement, the ceremony was previously conducted by the Air Force Commander at the Kolej Tentera Udara (KTU) on Dec 17, 2022 last year.

“The breakdown of ATM Junior Pilot Officers (2U2I) this year comprised three officers from TDM and 15 were from the RMAF, including one woman,” according to the statement.

The 2U programme, implemented from July 13, 2018 to Feb 7, 2021 at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) saw the Cadets passing out with Second Class Honours (High), Bachelor of Aviation (ZK61).
