KUALA KRAI, March 28 – Slow-moving traffic has been reported as of 9 pm Thursday night on several main federal roads involving the Kuala Krai and Gua Musang districts as people begin returning to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Kuala Krai district police chief Supt Mazlan Mamat said although the traffic was moving slowly, however, it was under control as the Works Department (JKR) had begun activating the ‘amber light’ warning signal at several traffic junctions such as Peladang and Daskoh.
“However, road users are still cautious when passing through the traffic light intersection from Guchil to the Sungai Durian junction,” he told Bernama.
Meanwhile, Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said his team expects an increase in vehicles till Friday.
“When there are many vehicles, we will implement traffic diversions at the locations in question. For example, this afternoon we did it around the Gua Musang town area for about five kilometres because there was congestion which lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes,” he added.
