KUCHING, May 5 — Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) wants to continue to focus on the stability of the Unity Government in order to develop the economy and the people as called upon by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Deputy Prime Minister who is also GPS chief whip, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, said the Unity Government is stable and strong, and this was proven through the support of 148 Members of Parliament and Budget 2023, which was passed in Parliament last month.
“For GPS, this (stability of the government) is our focus and not on politicking because now is the time to develop and restore the economy for the sake of the people,” he told reporters after an Aidilfitri gathering organised by Persaudaraan Masjid, Bintangor dan Haji Taha (MBHT) here tonight.
Fadillah was commenting on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s confidence that the Unity Government will remain intact until the next general election.
