KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 – The gathering in solidarity with Palestine to be held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil this Sunday is one of the moves to send a strong message to the world that Malaysia is condemning the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh and will continue to support Palestine.
“We have already discussed this in the Cabinet meeting, we have made a firm statement. We will also hold a gathering in solidarity with Palestine this Sunday. I think it is enough to convey the message,” Anwar said.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the gathering is expected to begin at 8 pm.
“We are providing the space for all parties to come together to show solidarity for Palestine and we hope this will send a clear signal to the international community that Malaysia’s stance on the Palestinian issue has not changed and that we will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people,” he told a press conference.
