GEORGE TOWN, Sept 22 — Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh topped the Penang DAP party polls today by gaining the highest number of votes at 1,247.

He was followed by Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim Chee Keong who received 1,237 votes. Former Penang executive councillor Yeoh Soon Hin was third with 1,225.

Tanjong MP Lim Hui Ying, who was widely tipped to win the state party polls together with Sim, garnered 827 votes, clinching the 12th spot.

The delegates at today’s Penang DAP convention voted for 15 members to make up the Penang DAP committee. They will then decide among themselves who should be appointed chairman and hold other important posts.
