BERLIN, Sept. 23 – German national team director Rudi Voller has opened doors for Liverpool hero Jurgen Klopp when it comes to the job as German manager.

“If Julian Nagelsmann is deciding to coach a top club side after 2026, there is no getting around Jurgen Klopp,” the 64-year-old Voller said.

“There is no doubt, that Jurgen Klopp has achieved an outstanding career,” the German striker icon indicated, adding that if Klopp says yes, the former Dortmund coach is the first choice.

While Klopp after nine years in Liverpool is taking an undefined break, the German team official said, Nagelsmann’s way hasn’t ended yet. A similar judgment applies to assistant coach Sandro Wagner, who received several offers from German and international clubs to join as their head coach.

“I can exclude that, he will be around until 2026 at least,” the former Leverkusen CEO said.

Regarding Klopp, Voller admitted, that so far there has been no contact with the 2019 UEFA Champions League winner. His statements nevertheless seem a clear message for Klopp to consider the German job in the future.

The 57-year-old had been fans’ desired favorite when it comes to the national team over the past years.
