JAKARTA, Oct 19 – Two Indonesian soldiers who were injured during an Israeli attack in Lebanon have recovered and returned to duty with their UNIFIL unit, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto confirmed on Friday, Antara news agency reported.

“Both are healthy; they have returned to their units. Both have rejoined their parent troops. They are doing well,” he said.

The two TNI personnel were injured after a Merkava tank belonging to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) fired at an observation tower at the UNIFIL Headquarters in Naqoura, Lebanon, on October 10, 2024.

They sustained minor injuries to their legs, and their condition was stable. After being treated at a hospital, they returned to duty.

UNIFIL and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi condemned the Israeli military attack, which threatened the safety of UN peacekeepers in Lebanon.
