PUTRAJAYA, Nov 20 — The Ministry of Health (MOH) today received equipment worth RM1.1 million from Malaysian home improvement store chain MR D.I.Y. to boost the ministry’s effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The contribution including personal protection equipment, face masks, face shields and sanitisers will be distributed to 76 MOH facilities nationwide, such as hospitals, health clinics and offices.
It was handed over by MR D.I.Y. chairman, Datuk Azlam Shah Alias to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba. Also present were MOH secretary-general, Datuk Seri Dr Chen Chaw Min and MOH deputy secretary-general (Management), Datuk Mohd Shafiq Abdullah.
From the total, Azlam Shah said equipment worth RM700,000 had been sent to Sabah earlier this month following the serious COVID-19 situation in the state.
To date, MR D.I.Y. has donated equipment worth up to RM5 million.
