PUTRAJAYA, Sept 5 – The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) is inviting interested parties, including electricity generation, retail, and wholesale licensees in Singapore to participate in the Energy Exchange Malaysia (ENEGEM) Auction 2025.
The auction involves the sale of green electricity from Malaysia’s power supply system to consumers in Singapore.
In a statement today, the ministry said interested parties may register through the Single Buyer website from Sept 8, 2025.
Further information on the upcoming auction is available on the official PETRA, the Energy Commission, and the Single Buyer websites.
Established on April 15, 2024, the ENEGEM platform facilitates cross-border green electricity trade with neighbouring countries.
The cross-border energy trading through ENEGEM is implemented based on the “Guide for Cross-Border Electricity Sales (CBES)”.
To date, up to 50 megawatts of green electricity trade transactions have been recorded since Dec 13, 2024.
“PETRA is confident that the implementation of bidding through the ENEGEM platform will enable Malaysia to further strengthen the framework for cross-border electricity supply.
“At the same time, it will open up wider opportunities for development and collaboration in the green energy sector through cross-border trade among ASEAN countries, in line with the Malaysia MADANI core values of prosperity and sustainability,” the ministry said.
