KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) Appreciation Aid programme went smoothly yesterday with sales reaching RM100 million, benefiting 1.7 million recipients as of 10.30pm.
The Finance Ministry reported that the transaction success rate had improved to 99.9 per cent compared to 99 per cent the previous day.
“Efforts to enhance and expand the system’s processing capacity over the past six days have contributed to the system’s stability, which was achieved today,” MOF said in a statement yesterday.
Since its launch on August 31, over 10 million citizens have used their Sara Appreciation and monthly Sara Aid credits to purchase essential goods.
Total nationwide spending has now reached RM641.9 million during the seven-day period.
The one-off Sara Appreciation Aid, distributed through MyKad, benefits 22 million citizens with a total allocation of RM2 billion.
The aid is available to all citizens aged 18 and above, regardless of their income category, and can be redeemed at selected supermarkets using their MyKad.
