PUTRAJAYA, Jan 8 — The prime minister’s wife, Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman, today launched the Seri Manja Saleha Children’s Book Series, written by Datin Radziah Mohd Daud, here.
The book series has six titles namely “Kasih Ibu”, “Dari Jendela”, “Indahnya”, “Banjir”, “Dulu-dulu” and “Apa Bangunan Itu?”
At the launching ceremony, Norainee also read one of the books to three children.
Norainee in her speech said the culture of reading should start in the early stages of a child’s development.
“We gain new knowledge through reading and it can help develop our thoughts and imagination,” she said.
Norainee said the book series has its own uniqueness and the storyline is close to the people’s heart.
It upholds the Malay culture through the illustration of Malaysian traditional homes and handicrafts, she said.
The Seri Manja Saleha Children’s Book Series is sold on the Shopee platform for RM72.50 per set.
Meanwhile, Radziah said her involvement in the early childhood education for more than four decades, had prompted her to write a book that reflects the world of children in Malaysia.
