China sends 82-person rescue team to Myanmar after deadly quake

BEIJING, March 29 – A Chinese rescue team, consisting of 82 personnel, departed from Beijing on Saturday to assist with quake rescue efforts at the request of the Myanmar government after a deadly earthquake struck the country on Friday, CGTN reported.

As of Saturday morning, a total of 694 people were confirmed dead, according to the Information Team of Myanmar’s State Administration Council.
