KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is currently resting at the National Heart Institute (IJN) after experiencing fatigue earlier Sunday morning.
His aide, Sufi Yusoff, confirmed the matter when contacted by Bernama.
“Dr Mahathir is currently under observation at IJN for fatigue-related issues,” he said.
Sufi added that Dr Mahathir, who celebrated his 100th birthday last Thursday, is expected to be discharged later this evening.
The former prime minister had attended a Picnic & Potluck event this morning, held to celebrate his birthday and that of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who turned 99 yesterday.
According to media reports, Dr Mahathir also took the opportunity to cycle around Putrajaya Lake during the event.
