LONDON, Feb 24 — The former UK ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office after accusations he passed on government information to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, PA Media/dpa reported.
The Metropolitan Police said the 72-year-old was taken to a London police station for interview on Monday.
The former Labour minister allegedly passed sensitive information to Epstein during his time as business secretary.
Two of Mandelson’s properties were previously searched by police in connection with the allegations, which surfaced following the US Department of Justice’s document dump related to Epstein last month.
