Two Found Dead After Landslide Hits Homes in Papar

KOTA KINABALU, Sept 15 — Two people were found dead after a landslide buried three houses in Kampung Mook, near Papar, this afternoon.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said both victims were recovered after nearly four hours of search and rescue operations.

“The victims were confirmed dead at the scene by medical personnel. Their identities have yet to be confirmed,” it said in a statement.

A distress call was received at 10.02 am and a team from the Papar Fire and Rescue Station, located about 35 kilometres away, was immediately deployed.

The operation concluded at 2.25 pm, with continued monitoring on site.
