KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday received a courtesy visit from a Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) delegation led by its chairman Kanetsugu Mike in Putrajaya.
During the courtesy visit, Anwar emphasised the MADANI government’s priority to drive high-quality investments, especially in value-added technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy.
“With an open economy policy and the long-standing close relationship between Malaysia and Japan, the government will continue to strengthen a conducive investment ecosystem,” he said in a post on X today.
As a leading global financial firm established in Malaysia since 1957, MUFG plays a key role in encouraging investment from Japanese companies, particularly in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
“I appreciate the commitment of MUFG, which recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to accelerate investments in identified strategic sectors,” said the Prime Minister.
