CNY 2026: 15 Price-controlled Items, Rahmah Sale Discounts of Up to 30 Pct

SHAH ALAM, Feb 13 — Consumers can enjoy 15 types of goods at controlled prices throughout the implementation of the Chinese New Year 2026 Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP), from today until Saturday (February 21).

The Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) said that consumers may also enjoy discounts of up to 30 per cent through the Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) at 182 locations across the state from February 3 to Thursday (February 19).

“In conjunction with the first day of SHMMP’s enforcement, inspections were conducted at Giant Hypermarket Bukit Tinggi, Klang, joined by the state executive councillor for consumer affairs and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail, together with Selangor KPDN director Muhamad Hanif Asa’ari, involving 10 enforcement officers.

“The focus was on monitoring maximum prices and the use of pink price tags. The inspection found that the premises complied with the scheme, with some items sold below the stipulated maximum prices.

“Supply performance throughout Selangor was also reported to be under control,” it said in a statement today.

Selangor KPDN added that firm action will be taken against traders who violate the scheme, including fines of up to RM100,000 for individuals, RM500,000 for companies, or imprisonment of up to three years.
