KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 – Gentari Sdn Bhd, via Gentari Renewables Sdn Bhd, has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to supply renewable energy from a 80-megawatt (MW) wind energy project in Tamil Nadu, India.
In a statement on Tuesday, the clean energy solutions provider said the agreement marks a concrete step towards the shared ambition of delivering new, cost-effective, utility-scale renewable energy projects.
“Targeted to commence operations in mid-2027, the project is expected to generate about 300,000 megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy annually.
“Through the supply of renewable energy, Gentari is advancing its vision of putting clean energy into action, while supporting AWS’ goal of reaching net-zero carbon by 2040,” it said.
Gentari added that the partnership reflects its shared commitment to advancing practical, scalable, and clean energy solutions — vital for Asia and the world’s move towards a low-carbon future.
Gentari chief executive officer Sushil Purohit said through projects like the Karur wind development, the company is not just adding renewable capacity, but also addressing real energy needs where it matters most.
“Together with AWS, we are focused on delivering impact through action and enabling the broader energy ecosystem to transition,” he added.
