Govt Adds 20.23 Hectares of Melayu Reserve Land in Bandar Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — The government has taken an unprecedented step by adding 20.23 hectares of Melayu reserve land in Bandar Malaysia, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

While presenting the 2026 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said Petronas, as the owner of the Bandar Malaysia land, is planning its development.

“Petronas will commence the development phase by the end of 2026,” he said.

In February, the Ministry of Finance announced that the full development of Bandar Malaysia is now under KLCC Development Sdn Bhd (KLCCD), a wholly owned subsidiary of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (KLCCH).

KLCCH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Bandar Malaysia development will be a unique and inclusive project encompassing commercial, residential, and recreational elements, with a focus on sustainability.

This includes providing 10,000 affordable housing units with open spaces and parks, and preserving a part of the land, 20.23 hectares, as Melayu reserve land.
