KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 — Saudi Arabia is set to host the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Collaboration and Growth Meeting: Building Common Ground and Reviving Growth in Jeddah on April 22 to 23.
The announcement was made on the closing day of the 56th Annual Meeting of the Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning, Faisal F. Alibrahim, confirmed the details for the regular high-level WEF meeting. This follows the initial announcement made at the 2025 WEF Annual Meeting.
Minister Faisal emphasised the critical need for “pragmatism and collaboration” amidst a landscape of geopolitical fragmentation.
“Stability needs to be founded, nurtured, protected, reinforced, and guided. Stability is non-negotiable,” he said to global leaders in a statement.
He stressed that continual dialogue is essential for reviving global growth, noting that no single convening can resolve every global challenge. Instead, he called each meeting “an opportunity for us to be resolute and deeply invested, and for us to build the culture that allows cooperation to function in the first place”.
The upcoming Jeddah meeting aims to build on the momentum of the WEF Special Meeting previously held in Riyadh, further cementing Saudi Arabia’s role as a “global capital of pragmatism and of consequence”.
Faisal added that the effort helps move cooperation from intent to outcome by setting clear expectations, anchoring responsibility, and ultimately, making dialogue count.
Meanwhile, WEF President, Børge Brende commented on the forum’s deepening engagement with the Kingdom, expressing pleasure at returning in 2026. He highlighted the goal of the meeting – creating space for leaders to work together, build trust, and ensure dialogue leads to meaningful collaboration and action.
The Global Collaboration and Growth Meeting underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment as a reliable partner in fostering international dialogue and stability to unlock global prosperity. The Kingdom continues to gather perspectives from both developed and developing economies to address shared global challenges and co-author growth.
