KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 — Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has cut off electricity supply in Kuala Selangor following persistent rain and flooding in the affected areas.
In a Facebook post, TNB said two affected substations were located at Jalan Rizab Masjid and Southern Reality Ladang Bukit Ijok.
“This power shutdown by TNB is for the safety of local users,” the statement read.
TNB also advised consumers to switch off all wall sockets and unplug electrical appliances.
Following storms and heavy rain in several areas around Nilai and Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, TNB said restoration works there are expected to take a long time due to numerous fallen trees that have damaged poles and TNB lines.
“The public is advised not to approach fallen TNB lines or any damaged electrical installations.
“Technical teams are working to restore supply, prioritising the safety of all parties during the restoration process,” the statement added.
Members of the public can report any damage via hotline 15454 or by sending a message on the TNB Careline Facebook page. – Media Selangor
