KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 – Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) unit TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB Remaco) has entered into a strategic joint venture partnership with Kuwait’s Al-Dhow Engineering General Trading and Contracting Co. WLL.
The partnership was formalised with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which outlines collaboration in the power and water distillation sector within the GCC region for two years, covering Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement, TNB said the landmark joint venture was announced in conjunction with the 46th ASEAN–Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit 2025.
The parties were represented by TNB Remaco managing director Abidin Sarjo and Al-Dhow Engineering chief executive officer, Joe Georges Chidiac.
“The document exchange ceremony was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 26, witnessed by Crown Prince of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” it said.
TNB added that the strategic partnership marks a deepening of economic relations between Malaysia and Kuwait, reflecting Malaysia’s growing influence in the Middle East, particularly in critical sectors such as energy and power infrastructure.
