KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 – With Eid al-Fitr approaching, the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and the Malaysian Islamic Friendship Association (IKRAM) Foundation held an Eid al-Fitr food distribution ceremony yesterday, providing festive supplies to 109 Muslim beneficiaries to joyfully welcome the festival.
This activity is one of the projects launched by the Malaysian Islamic Friendship Association Foundation in conjunction with its Ramadan fundraising campaign, and the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia has sponsored this activity for six consecutive years.
In his speech, Minister Zheng Xuefang of the Chinese Embassy said that the Chinese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has cooperated with the Malaysian government and non-governmental organisations for many years to carry out various charitable and social assistance projects, striving to support the livelihood and public welfare of Malaysians.
Zheng Xuefang said that Ramadan is the most auspicious and important month of the year for Muslims, and also a sacred month to demonstrate unity, friendship, and mutual assistance.
The Ramadan customs of fasting, praying, and doing good deeds reflect the Muslim values of self-reflection, kindness, benevolence, and magnanimity, fully embodying the spirit of love, inclusiveness, and harmony inherent in Islamic civilization, which is consistent with many important concepts of Chinese civilization.

Helping the weak and needy with a kind heart, and being charitable without expecting anything in return, are virtues and good deeds highly praised in traditional Chinese culture, especially Confucianism.
