PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was seen giving a thumbs-up after the festive staging of the 2025 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya today.
Shortly after the departure of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the King and Queen of Malaysia, Anwar spent about five minutes meeting parade participants and members of the public who remained at the venue.
On the ‘human graphic’ stage, Anwar expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all those involved in making this year’s celebration a success.
“I’m proud of you. This is the best performance in Malaysia’s history. Do study hard,” he said.
Themed “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni”, the celebration was also attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, along with Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who chairs the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebration main committee.
A total of 81 contingents, comprising 14,062 participants, participated in the parade, including 21 marching bands, seven decorated floats, 508 assets from the Malaysian Army and the Royal Malaysian Air Force, as well as 116 service animals.
This year’s celebration drew more than 100,000 people, who thronged Dataran Putrajaya since last night.
