Iran’s IRGC Chief Hossein Salami Assassinated in Israeli Strike

TEHRAN, June 13 – Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, has been assassinated in an Israeli strike in Tehran Friday, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

State TV cited a report by Tasnim News Agency on Friday morning, stating that Salami was assassinated in an Israeli strike overnight.

No further information was immediately available.

Tasnim also said that Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi, a nuclear scientist and president of the Islamic Azad University, and Fereydoun Abbasi, also a nuclear scientist and former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, were assassinated in separate strikes.

The strikes also targeted other locations in and near the capital, Tehran, as well as in other cities.
