Saudi Arabia Launches Smart Health Bracelet For Security Forces During Hajj

ARAFAT (Saudi Arabia), June 6 — This Hajj season, Saudi Arabia’s General Department of Medical Services at the Interior Ministry has launched the Smart Health Bracelet for the first time, aiming to enhance medical safety and support for security personnel on duty.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), this innovative device leverages Internet of Things (IoT) technology, enhanced with Artificial Intelligence (AI), to provide essential medical support to security personnel in the field, significantly boosting their safety as they serve pilgrims.

The Smart Health Bracelet monitors the vital signs of security personnel on duty, sending immediate alerts to the command and control centre at the Security Forces Hospital in Makkah. This ensures prompt support and intervention for advanced medical cases.

To facilitate this, the General Department of Medical Services equipped the command and control centre with electronic screens directly linked to the Smart Health Bracelet.

Specialised medical staff constantly monitor incoming signals and notifications, categorised by medical urgency.

The bracelet also tracks heat maps of security personnel’s health conditions in the field, continuously observing vital signs to determine when medical team intervention is needed.

The Smart Health Bracelet can send a distress signal to the command and control centre, allowing medical staff to communicate directly with the individual in need.

A field team is dispatched 24/7 to provide assistance and necessary medical support. This technology complies with the policies and requirements of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).
