Hezbollah Says It Launched 40 Attacks on Israeli Targets Over Past 24 Hours

ISTANBUL, March 31 — The Hezbollah group said that it launched 40 attacks on Israeli military sites, bases, settlements and troops over the past 24 hours, Anadolu Ajansi reported.

In a series of statements monitored by Anadolu, the group said the operations were carried out “in defence of Lebanon and its people.”

The attacks included rocket barrages and drone strikes targeting the settlements of Metula, Dovev, Kiryat Shmona, Yir’on and Nahariya in northern Israel.

Hezbollah said it also targeted the Ghajar site, the Shomera barracks and the Mishmar HaCarmel site south of Haifa, in addition to the Haifa naval base.

The group said it fired what it described as “advanced rockets” at the Glilot base near Tel Aviv, which houses Israel’s Unit 8200 military intelligence headquarters.

Other attacks targeted the Filon base south of Rosh Pinna, military infrastructure in the Krayot area north of Haifa and Israeli troop gatherings near Naqoura and along the Lebanese border.

In southern Lebanon, Hezbollah said it targeted Israeli troop and vehicle concentrations in several border towns, including Adaisseh, Deir Siryan, Ainata and Bayyada, reporting what it described as direct hits.

The group also said it destroyed several Israeli Merkava tanks and struck Israeli forces inside homes in the border towns of Beit Lif and Ainata.

Israel has pounded Lebanon with airstrikes and launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon since a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2.

Lebanese authorities said at least 1,247 people have since been killed and 3,690 injured in Israeli attacks.

The escalation came amid a joint US-Israeli offensive on Iran which has killed more than 1,340 people since Feb 28.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and US bases in Gulf countries.
