KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — Malaysians aged 18 to 30 can access three months of free ILMUchat Pro, a home-grown artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, starting today in conjunction with the country’s 69th Independence Day.
YTL AI Labs, in a statement today, said the initiative was being offered under the Ministry of Digital’s AI Untuk Rakyat programme, in collaboration with YTL AI Labs and MyDIGITAL Corporation through the Rakyat Digital platform.
The initiative targets 100,000 Malaysians aged 18 to 30, with eligible participants required to complete the designated AI learning modules on Rakyat Digital before claiming the offer, normally priced at RM50 a month.
Developed by YTL AI Labs, ILMUchat Pro is designed around how Malaysians communicate and work, including the natural switching between Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese and Manglish.
The AI assistant can be used for everyday, educational and professional tasks, including drafting emails and letters, finding local services and businesses, creating posters and graphics, generating slide decks and building working app prototypes without coding.
It also offers higher usage limits for users to apply AI in their studies, work and everyday needs, including queries on PTPTN repayments, SME grant applications and job applications.
YTL AI Labs chief executive officer Foong Chee Mun said the company was proud to support the Government’s ambition of making Malaysia a leading AI nation.
“We look forward to empowering this generation not just to use AI, but to become the builders and contributors who define Malaysia’s AI future,” he said.
The programme was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in July at the launch of AI Malaysia in Cyberjaya, alongside the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030.
To redeem the offer, eligible Malaysians can log in to Rakyat Digital, complete the required courses, select ILMUchat Pro on their dashboard and log in using MyDigital ID to activate the three-month free access.
