Border Control Agency DG Shuhaily Returns to Duty After Leave

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 2 — The director-general of the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, resumed his duties at the agency today, following reports that he had been on leave last week.

In a post on its official Facebook page, AKPS said Mohd Shuhaily began his duties by chairing the ‘Commander’s Call’ Meeting No. 3/2026.

“The meeting, which brought together all entry point senior officers and commanders of AKPS, focused on ‘2027 Deployment Plan’ (Gerak Atur 2027).

“It specifically addressed strengthening the strategic direction, operational readiness, and the effectiveness of the nation’s border control and protection with a clear focus and streamlined operations as the mission continues,” said AKPS.

The agency remains committed to strengthening operational efficiency, integrity, and security at the nation’s entry points.

In the post, AKPS also included six photographs showing Mohd Shuhaily chairing a meeting attended by the agency’s top leadership.

Those present included AKPS deputy director-general (operations), Datuk Mohd Nasaruddin M Nasir; AKPS deputy director-general (policy), Zuraini Othman; and AKPS Commander for Port Klang, Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

Previously, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) had decided that Mohd Shuhaily would return to service with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Mohd Shuhaily was appointed as the director-general of AKPS for a two-year term, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.

On October 21, Mohd Shuhaily pleaded not guilty at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court to two charges of causing injury to two police officers at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Sept 28.
