Haze: Serian and Four Areas in Sarawak Record Unhealthy API

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 – No areas nationwide recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at “very unhealthy” or “hazardous” levels as of 9 am today, with only six areas recording “unhealthy” readings.

According to Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Serian, Sarawak recorded the highest API reading at 185, followed by Sri Aman (174), Samarahan (156), Kuching (156), and Sibu (109).

In the Peninsula, Johan Setia, Selangor recorded an API reading of 120.

Overall, 54 areas nationwide recorded API readings at the “moderate” level, while another eight areas recorded readings at  “good” level.

API readings between 0 and 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 301 and above (hazardous).
