KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 — Malaysia prays for the well-being of Saudi Arabia and hopes that all ongoing conflicts can be resolved as soon as possible.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the message was conveyed to Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, during a telephone call.
Mohamed Khaled said during the call, he also exchanged views with his counterpart on current developments of mutual concern.
“Saudi Arabia remains an important partner for Malaysia in the Arab and Islamic world, in addition to its position as the ‘Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ in Makkah and Madinah,” he said in a post on his social media page.
He said his counterpart also shared updates on the current developments and challenges faced by Saudi Arabia.
He said Malaysia would continue to monitor the matters discussed and remain in close contact to explore appropriate avenues through which it could contribute.
