KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, graced the Investiture Ceremony for Federal Awards, Medals, and Honours at Istana Negara today.
Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen of Malaysia, was also in attendance at the ceremony, which was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday celebration.
Their Majesties were welcomed on arrival by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Anwar and Dr Wan Azizah then escorted the King and Queen to the royal dais at Istana Negara grounds, where the royal couple received a royal salute from the Royal Malay Regiment’s Main Guard of Honour of the 1st Battalion.
It comprised nine officers and 180 other ranks and was led by Captain Nor Saifullah Mahmad @ Mohammed.
