KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Chery Corporate Malaysia and Touch ‘n Go Group have entered into a strategic collaboration to advance Malaysia’s digital mobility ecosystem through the introduction of RFID-ready solutions at the point of vehicle ownership.
In a joint statement, the companies said branded RFID tags will be offered as a bundled item with selected new models from Chery, Omoda Jaecoo and iCAUR sold nationwide, enabling customers to enjoy seamless toll payments from day one.
They said the initiative demonstrates a forward-looking approach to vehicle readiness, positioning RFID as an important enabler in Malaysia’s evolving mobility landscape.
“RFID is designed to be interoperable and compatible with future tolling systems such as Single Lane Fast Flow (SLFF) and Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF), offering an innovative and scalable solution that supports future developments in tolling and road usage,” it said.
Chery Corporate Malaysia executive vice-president Men Lin Bo said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to delivering smarter ownership experiences beyond vehicle design.
“By integrating RFID tags at the point of sale, we are empowering customers with immediate, hassle-free access to Malaysia’s evolving tolling infrastructure, while supporting the government’s digital mobility vision,” he said.
Meanwhile, Touch ’n Go Group chief executive officer Praba Sangarajoo said the collaboration is a positive step towards making RFID more accessible to motorists.
“It also highlights the automotive industry’s recognition of RFID as not merely a payment system, but an essential tool for the future of mobility in Malaysia,” he said.
Since 2023, Chery Corporate Malaysia has delivered 30,073 vehicles nationwide through a network of nearly 60 dealerships and aftersales outlets.
Omoda Jaecoo recorded 17,849 units in 2025 alone, representing more than 150 per cent year-on-year growth.
Chery Corporate Malaysia and Touch ’n Go will also collaborate on joint marketing campaigns to increase public awareness, understanding and adoption of RFID, in line with efforts to deliver a more connected and efficient driving experience.
